Spring List + Giveaway

Butterfly by Ayala Moriel
Butterfly, a photo by Ayala Moriel on Flickr.

It's time for a little spring listing!

Narcotic Flower beautifully orchestrates magnolia, fruity jasmine and peach aldehydes over a soft patchouli and opoponax tincture. Haunting and mysterious.

Sweet rose and cardamom over irresistibly musky and aphrodisiac ambrette seeds in Bedouin
by Persephenie. Perfection, and a great way to satisfy a rosy craving!

And speaking of roses – there is also Persephenie’s Rose Paka: Healing restorative butter with a subtle scent of roses and a creamy, buttery undertone and a fluffy, mousse-like texture. Nourishes the entire body and is gentle enough to use on the face as well!

Vanille Galante has become one of those go-to spring concoctions, with it’s salted caramel decadence and booming Easter Lily explosion over woodsy vanilla.

Fig Tree by Sonoma Scent Studio – an aldehydic, Mediterranean fig scent, reminiscent of cold marble patios and shady grapevine leaves.

Crisp, effervescent floral bouquet with accents of apple and watermelon - Spring Flower
is the kind of scent that makes me believe for at least a few hours before it fades that life might just be a weekend picnic.

But spring is not only about flowers, it’s also about developing stronger roots, and what better root could there be besides vetiver?
Blood Orange & Vetiver by Soivohle’ brings together the mineral and smoky notes of vetiver and the brightness of bright red citrus.

What are your spring favourites this year? Add a comment and enter to win a mini of Zohar - which is my own expression of pure spring happiness.

Spring is all about the juicy rhubarb greenness of Aedes de Venustas edp, Nicholas Jenning's ode to French Polynesia (tiare and vanilla in a swirl of flowers and spices) called Reves Polynesiens and Olympic orchids cheeky fun Golden Cattleya..all cheerful fresh scents to counter the tumultuous Parisian weather.
Thanks for the draw

Somehow, spring is the hardest season for me when I need to choose perfume...
It is too hot for winter perfumes, but too cold for fresh summer perfumes. :)
Mostly I wear Ormonde Jayne and Omnia Crystalline.

Spring here has been so moody (weeks in the 80's and then weeks in the 50's) that I'm constantly having to bounce back and forth fragrance wise. Usually I stick to one part of my wardrobe as the seasons are pretty constant, but I've been wandering here and there trying to guess how the day's going to be or how warm it will actually get.

During the cool patches, I've been wearing my beloved AG Ambre Fetiche, Prada Candy and Les Senteurs Gourmands Prune Jasmin (the latter helps with avoiding all the tempting seasonal treats around the house), while the warmer days call for Liz Zorn's Lilacs & Heliotrope, L'Occitane Rose Jardin Delice or Delice des Fleurs, Guerlain Mitsouko with all its lovely peach and a recent discovery, Sonoma Scent Studio's Rose Musk, which envelops beautifully and never overwhelms even on the warmest days.

I love Providence Perfume's solid Chiffonade, with its violet leaf, orris, mimosa and basil. And these past few days--the first 70 degree temperatures we've had--I've been wearing Illuminated Perfume's Cimbalom, enjoying its jasmine/patchouli floral earthy spring fever-inducing sweetness.

I am liking Sonoma Scent Studio's Incense Pure. There is something cold, clean, and refreshing about it that is perfect when it is heating up.

Forever and Ever Dior doesn't get a lot of love from me for most of the year, but when it's time to break out the summer dresses, I'm all for it.

Thank you everyone for your comments! Keep them coming and we'll do a draw tomorrow!

Diorissimo is forever the epitome of spring for me - and I'm so happy to see it in many of your comments!

This year around I've been exploring other scents, which is the only reason it's not in this list.

Also happy to see Apres l'Ondee mentioned, as it is such a rare beauty. For me, it's something to wear during a warm spring shower, when the air is filled with delicate young fragrant buds and green shoots, yet softly sprinkled with spring showers.

And Voile de Violette and Incense Pure are two of my favourites from Sonoma Scent Studio :-)
